PRESS RELEASE New Drummer, Ventura Petrosino, Joins One Dimensional Creatures

Greater Manchester, United Kingdom - 24th June 2024: Oldham based alternative punk/postpunk/grunge band, One Dimensional Creatures, are excited to welcome a new and very experienced drummer, Ventura Petrosino, to their line-up. In early May, after the HMV, Manchester gig, Adam Heap, the band's previous drummer, announced he was leaving due to work and family commitments.
Lead singer and rhythm guitarist, Ste Wilson, says “It's sad to see Adam go, he's a great drummer and a really sound guy. After practicing with Ventura for a few weeks I realise that we are very lucky to have found a drummer who can fill Adam's shoes and keep up with the fast pace of the band”. Ventura's first gig for the band will be on Saturday 10th August, when the band play the punk festival 'Easy Fest 2024' at Bank Top Tavern in Oldham, Greater Manchester.
About Ventura:
Ventura Petrosino (drums, beat maker) hails from Bari in Italy. He started drumming at the age of twenty-one. After playing in a in a Brazilian samba bateria he decided to learn how to drum on a full kit. Inspired by 70s rock bands like Led Zepplin, and 90's grunge bands like Nirvana, and Soundgarden. He quickly joined a band called MadreZma followed by The People Speak an originals band playing rock/post-punk. He toured Italy with them, playing gigs everywhere from small clubs to big festivals. They won the prestigious award, Arezzo Wave, and represented Italy at the FIMU Festival in Belfort, France, playing to a huge crowd. Ventura has also played as a session drummer in several bands including 'The Lysergics', a London based psychedelic rock band, with whom he toured Europe and played the Sziget Festival in Budapest. When he moved to the UK in 2019, he started playing with the Manchester School of Samba and in a covers band called 'The Green Men' until he found his home as a quarter of the One Dimensional Creatures in June 2024.

One Dimensional Creatures, aka One Dimes, are a four-piece alternative punk/postpunk/grunge band based in Greater Manchester, UK. Their music features heavy distorted guitars with flowing edgy lead lines and driving beats. Their punk-infused lyrics focus on UK life, politics, and equality for all. They draw on a range of influences such as IDLES, Show Me The Body, Protomartyr, Nirvana, Idlewild, The Pixies, and Sonic Youth.
